Bio: Kelsey is a queer birth doula of color practicing  in the Seattle area. She has a longstanding commitment to health activism and care work and prioritizes inclusion and access in her work by honoring all family structures and conception stories. When she is not attending births, she wears an assortment of reproductive justice "hats," including organizing with Full Spectrum Doulas, an abortion doula collective, and interning at MAIA Midwifery and Fertility Services, a practice that centers preconception and perinatal care for LGBTQ families.

Objectives:

Gain exposure to terminology that will allow you to foreground respect and understanding in relationships with LGBTQ clients

Start dialogue about gender identity, sexual orientation, and queer family building with the goal of better serving LGBTQ clients

Learn how gender and sexuality intimately impact lactation preferences and desirable lactation support for LGBTQ parents
